Krembil Brain Institute (KBI) zoom talk by KCNhub member Dr. Maurizio De Pitta

Email notice:

This week, we are excited to announce the launch of our Computational and Clinical Neuroscience lecture series beginning this Thursday, February 27th from 8 to 9 am EST. Please join us as we welcome Dr. Maurizio De Pitta as our expert speaker who will be presenting on "Harnessing The Manifold Neuron-Glial Interactions". This insightful session will be moderated by Dr. Mary Pat McAndrews.

Dr. Maurizio De Pitta is a computational neuroscientist at the Krembil Research Institute and principal investigator at the Krembil Computational Neuroscience Hub. His research bridges computational modeling, synthetic biology, and translational neuroscience to understand how neuron-glial interactions shape brain function in health and disease. A pioneer in computational glioscience, Dr. De Pitta has played a key role in advancing models integrating astrocytes and other glial cells into brain network dynamics. He is a co-author of the first graduate-level monograph on computational glioscience and a leading advocate for expanding current theories of cognition to include non-neuronal components. His work aims to provide crucial insights into neurological disorders' mechanisms and informs the development of innovative diagnostics and therapeutic strategies.
